Digital Citizenship

Teachers invest time in teaching not only their academic subjects, but how students can be good citizens. With the ever growing and increasing use of technology, students need to learn how to be good citizens in an online digital world as well. Teaching digital citizenship is a proactive approach to helping students sift through the vast amount of information and resources available to them, and to make the right choices to collaborate and communicate effectively with others. A digital citizenship curriculum touches on numerous topics including self image, relationships and communication, digital footprint and reputation, cyberbullying, information literacy, Internet safety, privacy and security, and creative credit and copyright.

These lessons are taken from the Common Sense Scope and Sequence

K-12 Digital Citizenship Curriculum found at commonsensemedia.org.
